About The artist

While ceramics has been my focus for thirty years, I have also expanded into combining it with other media including fiber, glass and found objects.I am instinctively drawn to ancient themes and the natural world as sources for my work.

Artist at workMuch of my life I have experienced a closeness with earth, rock and all the organic wonders while I have hiked, backpacked, run rivers, skied and sought quiet, intimate, remote locations. I also was introduced to geological formations and fossils for many years as my “Soil Scientist” Father showed his children these wonders.

I am currently exploring the lives of insects and creating fiber vessels.

CREATIVE SECRET

An excellent book on creativity: “The Creative Habit,” Twyla Tharp, 2003, Simon & Schuster. Written by a dancer/performer but it speaks beautifully to visual creativity as well.
